Nitrile is a type of synthetic rubber polymer made by an amalgamation of acrylonitrile and butadiene molecules. Acrylonitrile is a kind of cyanide but unlike cyanide’s poisonous nature, it is non-toxic and does not break up when dissolved in water. In its finished form, Nitrile usually contains 15% to 50% of acrylonitrile which can be tweaked to fit the manufacturer’s specifications.

Application:
Nitrile’s resistance to oil makes it a viable choice in the automotive industry to produce gaskets, oil seals, O-rings, engine hoses and other parts. It can be shaped to make rolls that dispense inks in printing. It takes flight with its excellent performance self-sealing fuel tanks and bladders in aerospace and designs waterproof fabric with a fine finish in textiles. With its durable and hypoallergenic qualities, nitrile is used to make safety gloves, for factory work and medical disposable gloves for labs and hospitals. A few other products where nitrile can be spotted are footwear, floor mats, sponges, and a range of molded goods
