BOMBAY OIL SEALS COMPANY
CAS number: 68037-87-6
This high-performance elastomer is marked by a distinct combination of properties like high-temperature performance, durability, stellar electrical insulation and transparency. It is made up of silicone and molecules like carbon, hydrogen and oxygen which has a structure of a siloxane backbone and an organic moiety bound to the silicon.
Properties:
Unlike organic rubber, silicone rubber has a Si-O bond in its structure with varying features that depend on its chemical structure and composition of methyl, vinyl, phenyl, trifluoropropyl or other rubber groups.
When exposed to climate fluctuations for long durations, this elastomeric material undergoes no change in its physical properties. Its features stem from its molecular structure made up of inorganic and organic properties.
Application:
Silicone rubber is vastly used across industries like aerospace, automotive, construction, medical, E&E, food processing, etc. Products that you can find it in include adhesives, sealants, potting, encapsulating compounds as well as in coatings, lubricants, etc.
