P.T.F.E Products
Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene. It started a golden era in the world of materials when it was discovered by Mr. Roy J Pluncket in 1938. It was later branded and patented as TEFLON by an American scientist. It’s an incredibly versatile material and is available in a number of forms such as rods, tubes, sheets, plates, tapes, thin wall tubing, electrical sleeving, spiral wrapping or custom moldings. PTFE filled grades refined materials properties can be achieved by the addition of selected fillers.
Their characteristics are apparent through their resistance to high temperatures, dielectric properties, low water absorption, resistance to ultraviolet rays, low smoke emission, non adhesive etc.
Applications
Their instrumental nature allows it to be used for a wide number of industrial applications in chemicals, petrochemicals, bio-medical, electrical, electronic, mechanical, aeronautical, environmental, defence, space engineering, construction, transportation and energy production.
We assemble a range of dimensions of backup rings according to the client’s needs while also developing spiral backup rings, bronze filled PTFE products etc. Back up rings are used to avert O-rings from extruding and to keep tight tolerances intact. Their primary role involves minimizing the extrusion gap on the lower pressure side so the O-ring can fulfill its sealing function without being damaged.
Backup Rings & other Customised P.T.F.E Products.
BOSCO also develops backup rings & other customized P.T.F.E products. Backup rings function to stop O-rings from extruding. They maintain tight tolerances and do not provide any sealing function. They are simply intended to reduce the extrusion gap on the low pressure side so that the O-ring can fulfill its sealing function without being damaged. We manufacture various sizes of backup rings, spiral backup rings and bronze filled PTFE products according to the clients needs.
