HNBR

HNBR

CAS number: 9003-18-3

Formulated by permeating nitrile with hydrogen on its hydrocarbon chains, Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) is a class of its own. It functions flexibly under high and low temperatures and exhibits excellent oil and corrosion resistance.

Properties:

  • Temperature ranges between -40oc to 150oc
  • Resistant to hot air and steam
  • Extremely good abrasion resistance
  • Remarkable resistance to several modern fuels
  • Low absorbency to volatiles and gas
  • Low compression set
  • Low noise and vibration transmission
  • Good resistance to crude oil, hydrogen sulfide, amines, alkaline corrosion inhibitors and high energy radiation
  • Chemically resistant
  • Good ozone resistance

Application:

HNBR elastomers inhibit unparalleled properties that make it perfect for the automotive and oil industries. It delivers excellent resistance to automotive fluids such as engine oil, fuel and coolant and industrial chemicals. It solves challenges in applications like A/C seals and hoses, engine seals, grommets and gaskets, fuel system seals and hoses, serpentine belts, suspension seals and synchronous belts. Other industrial uses that HBR operates in are blow‐out preventers, chevron seals, heat exchanger gaskets, paper mill rolls, oil field packers and rotary shaft seals.
