Polyurethane (PUR and PU) is formulated with organic units fused together by carbamate (urethane) links. Most polyurethanes are thermosetting polymers that do not liquify on heating. The monomers contained in this material, are classified as alternating copolymers since they polymerise one after the other during its formation.

Application:
Polyurethane products are often maneuvered to serve a variety of industries and make distinct products. They can be used to make standard fabric car seats or be molded into a foam for making furniture and bedding. Low-density rigid polyurethane is beneficial for thermal insulation to reduce the heating and cooling in equipment while simultaneously cutting energy use and carbon emissions. In the form of elastomers they meet the requirements for paint rollers and gel pads. Its general elasticity and strength makes it viable for creating a supportive and plush sole for athletic shoes and other footwear. It supplies a sturdy varnish over materials like wooden floors, car seats and wooden items to protect them from scratches, dents and weather degradation.
